We use necessary cookies for website functions and to remember your choice. With your permission, Burst collects usage statistics using browser and device information. Statistics stay disabled until you accept Analytics. Cookie Policy
Cookies, statistics, and your privacy.
We use necessary cookies to remember essential choices. With your consent, Burst Analytics uses a device fingerprint to understand visits and recognise a returning browser without storing an analytics cookie.
Your visit, at a glance
- Necessary cookies support basic functions and remember your consent choice.
- Burst Analytics uses browser and device information to create a fingerprint.
- Fingerprint-based statistics are optional and require your consent.
- We do not use Google Analytics.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies can also access information from your browser or device without storing a cookie. The same consent rules can apply to both.
Which technologies do we use?
Necessary cookies support normal website operation and remember your choice. If you accept statistics, we use Burst Analytics (Burst Statistics) in its cookieless fingerprint mode for website statistics and returning-visitor counts.
| Technology | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary cookies | Used for basic functions, security, stable website display, and to remember whether you allowed or rejected statistics. | RKCadTools / WordPress | The banner choice and category preferences are stored for up to 365 days; other durations vary by function. |
| Burst device fingerprint | Uses browser and device information, including canvas and audio signals, to measure visits and recognise a returning browser across days. | RKCadTools / Burst Statistics (first party) | No analytics cookie; recognition can continue across days. Withdrawing consent stops future tracking. |
Anonymous statistics with Burst
Burst records website usage, such as pages visited and visit counts. In the mode we use, it creates a fingerprint from browser and device signals instead of storing an analytics cookie. The fingerprint helps us recognise the same browser on a later visit; it is not your name or email address.
Burst stores the resulting statistics in our WordPress database. We use them to improve the website, not for advertising or cross-site tracking. Burst does not start until you accept statistics.
Using another browser or a sufficiently different device configuration may cause you to be counted as a new visitor. Withdrawing consent stops future Burst tracking on this browser.
Consent
Fingerprint-based statistics are optional. Consent is required before Burst accesses device information, even though no analytics cookie is stored. You can reject statistics and still use the website. Necessary cookies do not require consent when they are required to provide the website or remember your choice.
How to change your choice
Select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change or withdraw your choice. You can also delete the wpl_viewed_cookie and wpl_user_preference choice cookies in your browser; the banner will then ask again. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent us from remembering your choice.
