Supported files, privacy, and common questions

What can I open?

Local SQLite P&ID projects and schema 1 and 2 JSON snapshots from the desktop tool. Select Project.xml, PnIdPart.xml, and ProcessPower.dcf together, or choose a project folder or ZIP containing them. These are also the filenames in the sample ZIP.

Names can differ in other projects: use the PnId configuration referenced by Project.xml and the database referenced by that configuration. Keep the original filenames. A single P&ID database also works, with its filename used as the project name.

What are the limits?

100 MB per database or ZIP; 200 MB of relevant files after extraction; 20 MB per JSON snapshot; 3,000 folder/ZIP entries; 10,000 classes and 128 hierarchy levels. On smaller devices, use a desktop JSON snapshot.

Does anything leave my computer?

The application reads selected files into browser memory. It has no file upload endpoint, telemetry, or saved-project storage. Downloaded reports contain project metadata and should be shared intentionally. Your website still serves the application files normally.

Why is a database rejected?

Live journal sidecars and WAL databases need a consistent backup. Use the desktop tool to export a JSON snapshot, or supply a clean SQLite backup in rollback-journal format. Do not delete journal files. SQL Server, cloud projects, and DWG contents are not supported.

Inheritance is provisional. A difference is a review item, not automatically an error. The tool does not validate style definitions or inspect placed objects.
